    question

I FOUND WHAT I THINK IS A DRILL BIT. IT IS ONLY 2 1/2" LONG AND HAS A 1" LONGITUDINAL CONCAVITY IN THE SHAFT. i HAS WRITING ON THE REMAINDER OF THE SHAFT AS FOLLOWS: STERLING 5/16"H.S.3SP-S-3. WHAT IS IT?

    answer

It sound like a 5/16 Screw Machine Length High Speed steel drill bit, but the CONCAVITY in the shank I am not understanding.

Our screw machine drill bits are available here: USA Screw Machine Drills
